Sohrab Tebyanian is the manager of Andriana Furs, a Chicago-based retail store that stocks a wide range of quality products, including mink, sable, fox, and beaver coats and accessories, along with cashmere, Italian leather, and suede. Outside of his professional endeavors, Sohrab Tebyanian enjoys herb gardening.
Many herbs are easy to grow, but others require more care and maintenance. For example, basil, chives, dill, oregano, mint, and sage grow effortlessly and have high survival rates, but lemongrass, lavender, and coriander need plenty of care and are unsuitable for novice gardeners. Generally, the warm months are herb-planting season. Mulching can help since the herbs will need less watering. Gardeners should mulch only the soil around the herbs. If the mulch is up to the stems, the herbs may attract pests. Flowering causes some herbs to grow bitter, so trimming before they flower is advisable. Herb growth should focus on leaf development instead of flowers.
